Neurological Physiotherapist
Emma graduated from the University of East London in 1997 with a BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy. She started her career in East London and specialised in neurological physiotherapy in 2000 before moving to Sussex in 2002. Since specialising in neurology Emma has had a range of experience in the NHS from inpatient settings providing acute care and rehabilitation right through to home based rehabilitation. For the last 8 years of her NHS career she was a lead physiotherapist, first on a developing Stroke Unit and then in a community neurological rehabilitation team. Emma has had experience of working with a range of neurological conditions.
Emma is Advanced Bobath trained and is also trained in hydrotherapy. As well as using the Bobath Concept in her assessment and treatment of clients Emma draws on other experiences and concepts to ensure that treatment is tailored to each individual and their goals. She currently works part time in private practice and part time at a specialist Spinal Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation hospital in Buckinghamshire where she treats people in the hydrotherapy pool and on land.
Emma enjoys working in partnership with people to achieve their long term goals and works with them in a variety of settings to help them return to sports and other activities that they enjoy.
Emma is registered with The Heath and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN.)
