Karen Jackson
Chartered Physiotherapist
Karen has over twenty years of experience of working in adult neurology as a chartered physiotherapist, with clients both in the UK and in Canada. She has experience of working in the NHS, the private sector, with in and outpatients and in a community setting.
She has become a specialist in the assessment, treatment and management of a wide range of neurological conditions such as brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and spinal cord injuries.
Karen has completed basic and advanced Bobath training and now uses a variety of approaches to optimise a patient`s ability to reach their goals. Karen has developed a particular interest in hydrotherapy with an aquatic therapy qualification specialising in neurological conditions and has refined these skills in many years of leading hydrotherapy sessions.
Karen also has considerable experience with older people in a nursing home and in their own homes, aiming to address their needs and enabling an improvement of mobility and quality of life.
More recently, Karen was the lead author in a research study about stroke that was published in an international physiotherapy journal. Currently she is undertaking a part-time Master`s degree in Neurological Physiotherapy, and aiming to apply evidence to ongoing clinical practice.
Karen is strongly motivated to provide the best possible treatments to meet the client`s needs, enabling them to achieve the goals that are important to them.
Karen is a member of HCPC, CSP, ACPIN and AGILE.
