Nishana Saman

Speech and Language Therapist

Nishana qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1992 and has worked both in the United Kingdom and South Africa. As well as her undergraduate degree, she has an Honours degree in Psychology and a Masters in Communication Pathology. She has extensive experience in working with people with acquired neurological impairments and voice disorders. She specifically works with people with communication and swallowing difficulties following a stroke or other neurological event. Her work includes assessing and treating voice disorders.

Nishana is a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Her work experience ranges from hospital-based work; clinical tutoring of undergraduate speech and language therapy students and working within specialist rehabilitation teams. Nishana works as the Dysphagia Specialist at Warwick Hospital. She works closely with Medical and ENT Consultants and members of the multidisciplinary team. She has a keen interest in research and in providing evidence-based treatment programs.
